I have been a dietitian since 1998 and am recognised within dietetic circles as a specialist in weight management. As a practising dietitian I am registered with the UK Health and Care Professions Council (Licence No. DT07438), a full member of the British Dietetic Association and a member of the Association for the Study of Obesity.
I currently deliver Dietetic Services at a private hospital in East London, and operate my private clinic work out of two locations: 58 South Molton and Clapham Common Clinic
Education
I graduated in 1997 from King’s College London with a BSc Hons Degree in Nutrition, and then continued on to study a Post Graduate Diploma in Dietetics in 1998. After a year as a ward dietitian in Cardiovascular Health at Imperial College NHS Healthcare Trust I was recruited by Ashfield Healthcare (funded by Roche Pharmaceuticals) to join a small NHS team to research adult weight management. Funded privately but working within the NHS afforded great flexibility in responsibilities, project choice and delivery. I was instrumental in the set up of the research based Lifestyle Clinic at Hammersmith Hospital, and key to the development of a structured weight management programme called Counterweight. As a project board member I worked closely with global key opinion leaders, presented nationally and internationally and co-authored academic papers for peer reviewed publications. Within my team I led on Continuing Professional Development, and was final edit on literature and resources.
Sports Nutritionist
I have recently graduated (Summer 2016) from St Mary’s University, after undertaking a Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Sports Nutrition to achieve accreditation as a Sports Nutritionist. I have also achieved a Level 1 ISAK qualification (2017) which is the most accurate measurement of field based body composition analysis.
